Interpreting Part 2

Articulating ideas through imageries in Part Two has allowed me to obtain further understanding of how my creativity blooms progressively through independent and collaborative works. Throughout the process, I identified that addressing societal issues through a bizarre metaphorical approach works best for me to develop the character of my works. For instance, my Body Politics project in which I intended to communicate the misconception between different genders through a character’s principle that’s built from subconscious nature. Fashion Communication matured my ability in juxtaposing two different comparable ideas to create a well-considered analogy. Another example is my Alternate Bodies project that depicts a dystopian period of time due to unhealthy reliance on technology.

Starting from a specific chosen theme is the best way for my creative thinking to develop in more depth and to deliver the niche of the project clearly. Hence, a focused detailed narrative is more suitable for my ideas to thrive in order to represent broader topic.

Working with limitations has led me to discovering new possibilities. All my works were shot in my student accommodation, I learnt that restrictions aren’t a barricade that drags ideas down as long as I’m immersed in the chosen topic. A strong start-point is defined by how much confidence I put in my works, works that are done with volition will communicate the value stronger through their visuals.
